Learn Wing Chun
for Self Defence
Wing Chun is a concept-based Chinese martial art and form of self-defence utilizing both striking and grappling while specializing in close-range combat. While many systems of martial arts require a decade or more to learn, Wing Chun was designed to be learned in the shortest time possible. With regular, consistent practice you can learn the entire core system in about one year. Mastery of the system, of course, takes a lifetime.

SIU LIM TAO
Siu Lim Tao means a way to minimise your thought.
It can be used as a form of moving and breathing meditation. In addition, it increases student concentration and focus. The form is also used extensively to develop forward energy in Wing Chun practitioners.
Siu Lim Tao contains all the basic hand movements used in Wing Chun: Taan Sau , Wu Sau, Fuk Sau and Bong Sau. Practicing Siu Lim Tao achieves a number of goals: it defines the centreline and teaches students where their hands should be relative to it, reinforces the correct elbow position, facilitates force generation in short range Wing Chun movements and teaches students how to execute Wing Chun movements correctly.

Street Fight
Techniques
Demonstrating by
Grandmaster Sify Amar Sing Deori
Wing Chun trains practical straightforward street fighting techniques for self defense. It trains you to attack and react from day one. It’s not just forms, not just flexible techniques—just straight practical street fighting defense and offense. Wing Chun is extremely practical for street fights and dangerous encounters because it combines attacking and blocking while using power and skills to stop an attacker in any way possible.
Wooden Dummy
Tecnhiques
In Chinese Muk Yan Jong
The Wing Chun wooden dummy is the most popular form of wooden dummy. A popular legend says it came about when 108 separate wooden dummies from the Shaolin Temple were combined into one by the nun Ng Mui to make training more efficient and effective. The Wing Chun wooden dummy uses an arm and leg configuration designed to cultivate fighting skill and chi simultaneously.

Chi Sau Techniques
It means Sticky Hands
“Chi” in Chinese means stick, and “Sau” means hand, therefore chi-sau means “stick hand” or “sticky hands.” That is the literal meaning of chi-sau, but in the context of martial arts, it is the metaphor given to the unique drills & techniques exclusive to the Wing Chun fighting system.
Chi Sau is there to make you a better fighter. It is a means to an end. Being good at Chi Sau itself does not make you a good fighter, Chi Sau is there to help you practice applying techniques and theories you learn in the hand forms. When you get in a fight you can't solve it by asking your opponent to Chi Sau. But hopefully Chi Sau has given you a chance to practice techniques and theory's against lots off different people (of different size and shape) so you know what is effective and you know what makes you vulnerable.

WING CHUN KUNG FU
FOR SELF DEFENCE
Wing Chun can be practiced by people of all ages, sizes, shapes and degrees of physical ability. It is equally applicable to both men and women, although in my experience women seem to make progress much faster. Wing Chun uses structure rather than strength and timing rather than speed. It is also based on natural human anatomy rather than mimicking the movements of animals, so it does not require extraordinary flexibility or athleticism.
The main reasons that Wing Chun Kung Fu has grown in popularity is that:
-
It is very practical in the modern world.
-
It can be learned in a relatively short period of time
-
It can be practiced by people of all sizes, shapes and degrees of athletic ability.
WHY YOU SHOULD LEARN WING CHUN KUNG FU
SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE
Wing Chun is one of the most effective street self-defence systems in the world, teaching speed and power in a very small amount of space.
There are many reasons to start learning Wing Chun Kung Fu.
The main benefits I will list are Self Defence, A Focused Mind, Body Control & Balance, Postural Alignment and Health.
Many students are not even interested in Self Defence, especially females. In today's society, you do not expect to have to defend yourself and can quickly get through life without these skills. However, Wing Chun Kung Fu is an art form, which develops self-confidence, awareness and is a vessel for self-discovery. Of course, Wing Chun is an extremely useful method of self-defence. Hoverever, there are so many more benefits to learning this unique martial art.
INVENTED BY A WOMAN
Wing Chun enjoys the unique position of being the only martial art system in the world to be invented by a woman.
This style can be learned by male or female or old people, but more impressively, can still be practised with the same passion during later life and retirement years.
